When you think of the perfect date, April 25 comes to mind. As Cheryl from Miss Congeniality says, it’s not too hot, not too cold – all you need is a light jacket! Though Cheryl was on to something, our Buy El Paso Adventure this week will take you all around town to experience a real, fun date night. Whether it’s your first date and you are trying to impress, or you are married and just need something to keep things interesting, we have you covered.
Our first stop was to the El Paso Ballroom Dance Academy, where we spoke with Owner Joanie Garcia. Here you can learn how to impress your partner every time by sweeping them off their feet. The El Paso Ballroom Dance Academy offers group classes and private lessons, and even has dance socials to give you the full dance floor experience. The company has been helping El Pasoans step in sync for more than 30 years and would be an amazing stop on any date night.
Our next stop was at Relaxe, an indoor urban recreational axe throwing facility. There, we spoke with Owner Julian Huerta, who told us about why axe throwing is the perfect activity for couples who are looking to have some competitive fun. But gentlemen beware – don’t get too cocky. Julian told us it’s always the ladies who come out on top! The sport is all about technique and finesse and has even made its way to the Olympics! Be sure to visit Relaxe for some cathartic time with your significant other.
Last, we stopped by Falcon Pottery and Arts Studio to get our hands dirty! We were greeted by retired art teacher Karmella Falcon, who founded the studio. She explained the different things guests can do in the studio. Customers can paint an already fired and shaped clay piece to take home that day, they can paint pieces to be fired, or they can create their own works of art out of clay on a wheel or by hand. Falcon says that pottery is a very conducive environment for people to bond.
