With fall just weeks away, you might be wondering what ’fit you’ll be wearing in your selfies at the pumpkin patch, sipping your pumpkin spice latte at a local café, or when you make your jaw-dropping entrance at Thanksgiving dinner. It’s safe to say that a fall wardrobe is a must. But what is even more of a must is supporting local boutiques while shopping for that perfect fall look.
On this Buy El Paso Adventure, we stopped at three businesses that cater to local fashionistas and trendsetters.
The moment you walk into Agua Boutique, located on the West Side, you’ll find the walls lined with racks of sweaters, coats and cardigans in a multitude of styles. Can you say, “sweater weather?”
The dress selection offers an assortment of mid-length patterned dresses in warm colors. These kinds of dresses are perfect for family outings. Agua Boutique also offers blouses and statement jackets that are paired easily with denim jeans. Remember, you can bundle up and still serve a look with an eye-catching pattern.
Stepping foot into Prêt-A-Porter is an adventure all its own. The boutique is nestled inside Tooth and Veil Oddities and Macabre Shop, a unique gift, apparel and collectible shop with a spooky tilt, located at the corner of Mesa Street and Montana Avenue. With Halloween creeping up, now is a good time to pay a visit.
Anna Valenzuela, owner of Prêt-A-Porter, showed us look after look of both women’s and men’s fall clothing. Almost every piece made a statement with patterns suitable for fall. Many were finished off with a hat. Not just your generic black fedora that has become the uniform for fall – we’re talking berets, velvet hats, pillbox hats and so many more. She also made it a point to layer jewelry and accessories. Our favorites were choker necklaces.
Going to the corn maze? Over Apparel will style you in the perfect flowy patterned flares that you’ll want to post on your feed. Your Instagram comments will be filled with “😍” and “🔥” emojis.
Over Apparel’s clothes are only available online. Owner Marlene Medel showed us her online shop’s fall looks and we couldn’t help but add almost everything to our cart. Her advice for the fall was plaid patterns, warmer tones and high-knee boots. Like the other boutiques on this adventure, she also recommended a statement piece to complete your look.
Pack up your summer clothes and change it up for fall with a new wardrobe from local boutiques in your neighborhood!
